Exchange program, the dream of many by Ana Clara

Hi , my name is Ana and I am here to talk about exchange programs, a subject well discussed by teenagers like me - who want to learn about new countries and other languages.

Usually organized by higher education institutions or specialized agencies, exchanges are usually offered according to age, need and availability of interested.

High School Exchange

Made for those already in school, with the High School you can study in a college in another country for up to one school year and have an amazing exchange of experience. Besides having the opportunity to live the daily life of another culture , that will be your gateway to the largest universities in the world. Students can study at public or private institutions in any of the countries where the program is available .

Advantages:
  • The student comes back more independent and confident to face the future.
  • Possibility of studying abroad without delaying high school in Brazil.
  • Total immersion in the culture and language of the country.
Exchange Au Pair
With low investment and duration of a year, the Au Pair program is designed for the female audience 18-29 years. Being an Au Pair , you will live in the home of a local family and will primarily take care of the small function , which includes helping them in homework , accompany them on leisure activities and of course fix the whole mess . The work is paid and the money can be used to make language courses, to walk and to have fun. That’s why it is considered the most exchange economic programs.

Exchange Study and Work
You will study in a school where there are classes for all levels of English. But,in order to have a good employment, is recommended to have an intermediary level of the local language. Over a period of the day you will study and will be able to work legally in another period .  Accommodation can be in host family , student housing , hostel or flat , depending on the chosen school.
Destinations
South Africa, Australia , Ireland, New Zealand

Volunteer Exchange Program
The exchange student chooses to participate in humanitarian actions through volunteering in protection programs to animals, the environment , children and aid to homeless people , etc. Generally, it is easier for those who are already trained in a profession , but it is not a requirement .

Never give up on your dreams I haven't been in an exchange program yet , but I will be one day, because I want to know a new country, improve my language skills and learn about another culture.
I hope you have enjoyed the post.

The best cultural festivals in the world by Mauricio

Hi,
Today I'll talk about some Traditional Festivals in the world.

By Mauricio

1-      Bolivia

The Bolivian culture resulting from the mixture of Indian and Spanish cultures. Transpire in the rites of a festival in long dresses and shawls colored women and dances palla-pallas, imitations of European invasion.

2 - Ireland

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by the Irish in large and small cities, like our carnival - we can compare how the "Parades Street Carnival". Some communities will even dye rivers or streams green! People dress in green, paint shamrocks on her face, because the clover is a symbol of Ireland, St. Patrick used it as a metaphor to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), and attend St . Patrick's Day parades. Among children, there is the tradition of snacking friends who do not wear green on this day!

3 - United States

Thanksgiving Day is considered a holiday in Canada and the US, being a day when people acknowledge the positive developments achieved throughout the year. It is customary to celebrate with prayers to the parties watered too much food. The first Thanksgiving Day was held in the years 1620, in the state of Massachusetts, in the city of Plymouth. The celebration was organized by the village's founding settlers, who, after a rigorous and unsatisfactory winter crops, managed to hold a rich harvest in 1621, during the summer.

4 - Brazil

Carnival is one of the major festivities in Brazil. Officially, the holiday of Carnival in Brazil is the 17th of February; however, the festivities start on 14 and end on 18 February. The origin of the Carnival was in Greece in the mid 600-520 BC, in Brazil, the carnival festivities began in the mid-seventeenth century, influenced by Carnival celebrations taking place in Europe.

5 - Thailand

Loi Krathong or Festival of Lights is held every year on the full moon of the twelfth month in the Thai lunar calendar to thank the gods and ask for good luck. Thais put offerings in krathongs, containers made with banana leaves or flowers, light them with candles or incense and drop into rivers, making a request. They believe that if the mini boat float by the current for a long time, without the candle goes out, the desire will be realized.

6 - Mexico

Unlike Brazil, All Souls' Day is celebrated in Mexico. The Day of the Dead, as it's called, is a big party around the country with the right music, candy and costumes. According to belief, the dead return to their homes to visit the living, preparing altars full of objects and like the food of those who are gone.

                                                       I hope you like it
                                                                                          XOXO

The most popular parties in Brazil

by Ana Angélica

That Carnival is the biggest party of the country, no one doubts, but in the nation of samba and soccer there is room for other parties which bring their origins in the plurality of aggregated knowledge and cultures of other peoples who settled here in Brazil.

I will show you, blog reader of Theory of the fun, that our country is very rich in culture. Now I''k show some traditional festivals:

Carnival: is the biggest and best Brazilian party. So great that it attracts tourists worldwide. but the origin of it is not here, no. There are several theories that it may have started in Mesopotamia in Rome or Babylon. And, in some events, there were festivals, lots of food, drinks and sexual pleasures.

Feast of São João: this party is celebrated in June throughout Brazil, but it is in Caruaru, in Pernambuco, that it stands out. The firecrackers and rockets are a legacy of the Portuguese and Spanish,  celebrated here during the colonial period. Native delicacies complement the menu: peanut, corn, coconut etc.

Folkloric Festival of Parintins: also known as Festa do Boi Bumba, the Parintins Festival takes place in June, in the Amazon. Legend has it that the Catirina slave, who was pregnant, felt the desire to eat beef tongue. To satisfy her, her husband Chico killed the  animal and was eventually arrested for it. To get out of prison, healers helped him raise the animal. Because this story is that the animal is honored in Parintins. In it, there is fighting two oxen: the Garantido, represented by the color red, and the Caprichoso, blue. Each one makes a presentation at night and by the end, there are the awards, held at the Bumbódromo.

Feast of Peão de Barretos: This is one of the only Brazilian party which has no religious background and lasts about ten days. The festival revolves around rodeos and has country songs (or any current singer).

Oktoberfest: it has a German origin. Also known as beer festival, it moves the entire state of Santa Catarina, mainly the city of Blumenau. There happens one of the largest German festivals in the world, following the original steps in Munich. The celebration includes parades with costumes, dances, archery, typical foods and of course, lots of beer.

In my research I found several other Brazilian traditional parties, whether African, German, religious, etc., but particularly, these are the parties that I believe are the best known, at least, they are the parties that I know.

And you?
You know other traditional festivals in Brazil? Leave your suggestions in the comments.

Thanks for reading another publication of our blog.
